SaaSpocalypse - or the dawn of a new golden age of DIY?

I downloaded a foreign-language film over the weekend. (Purely educational enrichment, naturally.)

Sadly, the Untertitel were missing. No problem — I found a file on another website. Unfortunately, they were about 2 seconds behind everything that happened on the screen. A small glitch.

So, I asked ChatGPT how to fix it.

Suggestion 1: “Download this specialised tool.”
Suggestion 2: “Upload your file to this specialised website.”
Suggestion 3: “Run this Python script that adjusts all timestamps by 2 seconds.”

And just like that, my Saturday evening transformed from Filmgenuss into Untertitelzeitstempelanpassungsautomatisierungsprojekt.

SaaSpocalypse in a small nutshell: with a simple .srt file and an AI politely teaching me to replace an SaaS startup with 8 lines of Python.

Or the dawn of a new golden age of DIY for everyone who does not know how to code, but has Python installed on the PC, sorry, Mac? Or do I wrap my newfound Python code in a website and become a SaaS? I need to buy Untertitelzeitstempelanpassung.com
